Red Dead Redemption 2

Update: This information has now proven to be incorrect. Information has surfaced that the statements regarding the 50GB size are false. GamingBolt regrets this error.

Original Story:

Roughly two weeks ago, reports emerged that Rockstar’s upcoming open world action adventure behemoth Red Dead Redemption 2 would require a massive 105 GB of space in your system’s memory. However, it turns out that that might not actually be true.

Earlier today, a user on the PSN Profiles forums leaked the full Trophies list of the game, having somehow managed to get their hands on it early, and that same user is now also reporting that the install size for the game is actually 50 GB, contrary to previous reports. They’re also reporting that the game comes with a 3 GB day one patch, but do note that the size of this will likely increase as we get closer to launch and Rockstar keeps updating it.

Additionally, Rockstar Intel claims that the 105 GB figure that was being reported earlier was “an exaggerated number”, which was only done to make sure that you have enough space on your system. They’re also reporting that the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions of the game won’t have any significant differences in their file sizes.

Of course, none of this is official by any means, so don’t take these as the final figures just yet. We’ll find out either way soon enough, with Red Dead Redemption 2 slated for launch on the PS4 and Xbox One on October 26, in just 15 days.
