Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Will Require Partial Downloads for Spyro 2 and 3

So that’s an improvement over how it was before, at least.

It looks like the delay for Spyro: Reignited Trilogy did it some good. Rather than how it was before, where players were being asked to download Spyro 2 and 3, and the disc would only include the first game, it seems that at least a part of every game in the trilogy will be included on discs. Rather, only a partial download of 2 and 3 will be required.

Functionally, this likely doesn’t change anything, since you will still need a download to be able to play the other games if you want, and only the first game will be playable out of the box. Still, if nothing else, at least it sounds like it will be less taxing on players’ bandwidth than it otherwise would have been. So, no, still not good for game preservationists, but better than it was for your bandwidth.

This news comes to us courtesy of an interview AchievementHunter had with Toys for Bob, the developers of the trilogy, which you can see for yourself below. Spyro: Reignited Trilogy launches for PS4 and Xbox One on November 13.
