Fallout 76’s Inventory Stash Size Will Be Increased, Ultra Wide Support Will Be Added in Post Launch Updates

It seems like Bethesda actually treated the beta testing period for the game as a beta, rather than as a glorified marketing demo like so many other companies do.

Fallout 76

Bethesda has been very clear that it plans to constantly tweak and update Fallout 76, based on player feedback. In fact, it reiterated that only yesterday, when responding to reports about alleged errors that players had discovered in the game.  Today, in a post on Reddit, they thanked fans for their participation in the official beta testing period for the game, and addressed some of the feedback and how they plan to incorporate it into the game.

So here’s some good news first: ultrawide 21:9 support will be added into the game shortly after launch of the PC version. Bethesda has also confirmed that the PC version will be getting push-to-talk chat support shortly after launch. That apart, one of the most common gameplay complaints players have had, which is the size of the stash for your inventory, will be increased shortly after launch as well.

Bethesda promises that glitches, bugs, exploits, and general erratic behaviour in the game, as reported during the betas, is either being addressed now, or has already been addressed, so we can hopefully get a cleaner build of the game once it launches.

That said, there is some bad news here as well—those of you hoping for an FOV slider being added into the game will have to contend yourself with that not happening. Bethesda flat out says it will not do that, since that would break animations, and suggests players play in third person mode with a pulled back camera instead if the first person FOV is too limiting.

It’s good to see that the company is addressing player feedback, and that it actually treated this beta period as an actual beta, rather than a glorified marketing demo like so many companies often do. Hopefully, Fallout 76 launches a stronger game as a result of these tweaks.
