Fallout 76 Doesn’t Read Your Beta Progress for Trophies and Achievements

Considering that the beta included the full game, that's less than ideal.

Fallout 76

Fallout 76’s beta was particularly notable for the reason that it included the full game, and that it would allow players to carry over their progress into the game at launch. However, if that is what you’re planning on doing (or have already done), you won’t be getting any of the Trophies or Achievements in the game for stuff that you already did in the beta.

Bethesda’s SVP of marketing Pete Hines recently confirmed on Twitter that Achievements and Trophies in Fallout 76 won’t be activated retroactively, and if you want a Trophy for something in the game, you’ll have to do the corresponding activity in the game itself.

This is, of course, how it’s always been done when it comes to betas and full launches of games, but in the case of Fallout 76, the decision hasn’t gone down with some people, because, as noted earlier, the option to transfer progress from the beta and just continue playing with that character in the full game is available.

For those who may have progressed in the main story or progressed their characters quite a bit, this might be a bit of a blow. Considering the fact that the game’s Trophies are inherently a bit grindy, this becomes even more of an issue.

Fallout 76 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
