Death Stranding Dev Promises “Surprising” New Info Soon

It's probably going to be nothing, but we'll take what we can get.

We know next to nothing about Death Stranding – not the first time I’ve written down these words, and definitely not the last – so every little morsel of information on the game that comes our way seems like a gold mine. Apparently, we might be about to receive another morsel pretty soon, coming from Aki Saito, head of marketing and communications at Kojima Productions.

Saito recently took to Twitter to thank fans for their support and for the number of followers he’s been amassing, saying that he’ll be sharing “a special info tweet” about something that surprised him during development once he hits the 20K followers landmark on Twitter- and maybe one when he hits 30K as well. Yes, we’re now at a point where we’re getting excited about a tease for a tiny little piece of information that might end up being nothing at all. But that’s just the way it goes with Hideo Kojima, I guess.

Among the plethora of things we don’t know about Death Stranding is its release date, though everyone from lead actor Norman Reedus, to director Hideo Kojima, to even Sony have been dropping subtle and cryptic hints that it might be launching in 2019. Or maybe we’re just reading too much into it- you be the judge.
