PlayStation Classic Is Available for $54.99 in US

It’s far more palatable at that price than it was at the $99.99 price it debuted at.

PlayStation Classic 1

It is abundantly clear that the PlayStation Classic hasn’t done quite as well as one might have expected, given the steep price cuts it has gotten in the five weeks that it has been on the market. This may owe itself to the plethora of problems the console has, from its poor games lineup to its poor emulation of the games that it does have.

Whatever the reason, the console hasn’t sold as well as it should have, which means we are seeing loads of discounts on it, presumably thanks to retailers trying to offload inventory. And so, we have the latest round of price cuts on the hardware. Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop are all listing the console for $54.99-$59.99, which is almost half of the $99.99 that it originally debuted at.

While the hardware does have a fair few problems, at this price it is a good deal. Plus you can now put your own ISOs on to the system, which means you are not necessarily limited to the games that come on it either. Hopefully, however, should a PS2 Classic be made, Sony will put a better foot forward with it than they did this time around.
