Detective Pikachu

The Detective Pikachu movie is real, and it’s just a few months away from release. And now, Ryan Reynolds, best known for playing Deadpool, and who will also be voicing the eponymous Detective Pikachu, has shared a brand new video which is extremely meta and self-aware in its style, talking about how Reynolds prepared himself for the role.

You can prepare yourself for a lot of Deadpool style fourth-wall breaking gags in the minute long video, which you can see for yourself below. It further reinforces the tone and aesthetic that the movie seems to be going for, which I feel is the only way such an absurd premise could have worked.

But that’s not all—we’ll be getting our first proper look at the movie itself tomorrow as well, the official Twitter account for the movie revealed today. You can check out the new video, as well as the the tweet, below. You can also play Detective Pikachu the video game on Nintendo 3DS now.
