Production on the next The Legend of Zelda title has been ongoing for a while, and Nintendo has steadily been bringing people on board to work on the game as well. Now, new job listings have surfaced on the website of developers Monolith Soft, creators of the Xenoblade Chronicles titles – as the studio looks to hire people for work on the next Zelda title.

Monolith is looking to hire people in multiple positions – planners, designers, management support, programmers, and technical artists – as production on the next mainline Zelda title ramps up. This, of course, isn’t the first time that the studio has been involved with work on a Zelda game. They were involved with landscape design of Breath of the Wild’s open world, while they aided Nintendo with the development of Skyward Sword as well. Interestingly enough, Monolith’s main studio, which works on the Xenoblade Chronicles titles, is also working on another new project, though details on that particular game are scant.

The nature of the next Zelda game remains unknown, but Nintendo have expressed plenty of interest in the past for making a game that follows in the footsteps of Breath of the Wild and the new foundation that it laid down with its emergent open world and absolute freedom. Increased hires might also suggest that the game’s entered full production by now (though that is only speculation)- series producer Eiji Aonuma said not too long ago that the next Zelda game could be on the Switch, so the game might not be as far off as some might think.

There’s a lot more Zelda to enjoy in the coming months beyond this new title, though. A remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening launches on the Switch later this year, while Nintendo also recently announced Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancerbeing developed by indie studio Brace Yourself Games.
