Publisher 505 Games and Developer ArtPlay have released new gameplay trailers for the upcoming spiritual successor to the Castlevania series, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Both videos showcase a new area, dubbed Tower of the Twin Dragons, and feature a lot of never before seen content like weapons, enemies, costume accessories and, as you’d expect, the boss fight of the area. All of which you can check out in the videos below (courtesy of Gematsu).

Bloodstained is described as a gothic horror action side-scrolling title set in 19th century England. It came to be from a wildly successful Kickstarter funding, being spearheaded by Koji Igarashi, a producer known for overseeing a large part of the Castelvania series. But the game had been absent from media after a delay and the cancellation of the PlayStation Vita version last year. It resurfaced with an updated look over the last few months.

The game has no solid release date as of now, but is slated for summer of this year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. While fans wait, the team did release a retro 8-bit prequel title, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, which you can check out on all the above platforms as well as the 3DS and PS Vita.
