We wrote yesterday about the latest update (2.1) to Ubisoft’s The Division 2, which launched earlier in the year. The update mainly addressed minor issues, leaving players to wonder when the next major update would come to bring the game up to 3.0. Well, it appears to have been unexpectedly delayed by Ubisoft.

According to an open letter on the game’s website, Ubisoft announced it has decided to hold back on the 3.0 update for now. After getting a lot of feedback from social media, they felt they needed some extra testing and balancing to make sure they had everything right. There’s no date or time frame stated for when to expect it, but in the letter they emphasize they want to craft the best update possible.

Most notably, however, the upcoming eight-player raid, titled Dark Hours, has also been delayed. The update, along with the raid, will now launch in May, as per Ubisoft- though a more specific date for when it all goes live hasn’t yet been provided.

Ubisoft also states that it will be making use of the public test server – going live soon – to ensure that upcoming changes and additions have the right balance before they’re rolled out in full (though the PTS won’t include the raid, as we already know).

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and you can read our take on the game here, and take a look at the first raid coming next week.
