Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 was undoubtedly a big highlight of last year’s E3, and that will most likely repeat at this year’s show, with the gaming being highly anticipated, coming from the developers of the acclaimed The Witcher 3. But it may look a little different from what we last saw of it, according to Quest Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.

Sitting down with Area Jugones (via Wcctech), he talked a lot about how the structure of the game has somewhat changed, largely because the development team couldn’t get a clear grasp on how to fit everything into the open world model back when gameplay was first shown off. Tomaszkiewicz also talks about many other things still being worked on, such as combat and the multitude of weapons the game will have (which we’ve heard about recently), somewhat casting doubt that the game will actually release this year despite recent rumors. Of course, game development is often like that, with things changing, sometimes radically, at even late stages- so don’t be too surprised if the next time we finally see the game, it actually looks quite different from what you remember.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. We can expect to see it at this year’s E3, which the developer has indicated is their most important show yet.
