Though Wolfenstein: Youngblood is essentially a spinoff of the series and a stopgap until we get to Wolfenstein 3, it seems like it’s going to be the biggest game in the series till date. We’ve reported earlier on how the game, being co-developed by MachineGames and Arkane Studios, will have a lot more to do than earlier titles and feature much more open-ended level design. Now, we have new information on just how long it’ll take to tackle and complete all those activities.

In an interview with GamesBeat, Jerk Gustafsson, executive producer at Machine Games, said that though Youngblood has seen a fairly short production time, in terms of gameplay content, this is going to be the biggest game in the series to date. Thanks to its non-linear narrative and the fact that it will offer players a lot more to do, the game will take around 25 to 30 hours to complete, if you were to tackle every activity on offer.

“It’s a bit weird, because this is our biggest game yet, but it’s a pretty short production time,” said Gustafsson. “Like I said, the story is lighter in content as well as tone. But the level progression and the non-linear narrative gives us the ability to add a lot of activities and a lot of missions to do, so the total game time is actually longer than our previous titles. I think we’re looking at at least 25 to 30 hours if you play through everything.”

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is out on July 26 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Bethesda recently confirmed that the game will have cosmetic microtransactions.
