Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 has been in the spotlight recently for a number of reasons, the most prominent being the reveal of Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand (who has the most dialogues in the game aside from the protagonist V). While the developer is focused on delivering a complete, “really big” game at launch, it also wants to support it with content afterward. UI coordinator Alvin Liu revealed to Prima Games that conversations were going on for expansions in the future.

“We are talking about expansions in the future,” said Liu. “We want to make sure everything’s complete, but we also want to build open worlds. I know when I was playing The Witcher 3 and I finished everything, I still wanted to know what everyone was up to. I think we’re going to have opportunities like that as well for Cyberpunk 2077.”

Content won’t be cut from the main game to sell piece-meal, according to Liu. You’ll still have characters developing and going through their own arcs. “You’re going to see them go through conflicts and resolve those conflicts. It’ll be a very rewarding ending. We’re not withholding content, we’re not withholding story for the future to try to, you know, monetize it or sell it in pieces or anything like that. You’re going to get the whole, full value game here.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on April 16th, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Though its gameplay demo at E3 2019 was only viewable to attendees, it will be showcased at PAX West in August. The game is also confirmed to have multiple endings, though a photo mode is still up in the air.
