cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be on the cusp of really creating a fascinating game not quite seen before in video games, at least not to the scale that’s being promised here. Today we got a little peek at smaller aspects of the world, but ones that help flesh it out, via the developers on Twitter.

In the first video, Art Director Kasia Redesiuk talks about the process that went into creating the game’s fictional ads (much of which have already sparked a lot of controversy, though we won’t go into that here). She also reveals her favorite one, which I won’t spoil, but let’s just say if you’re a fan of the original Total Recall, you’ll have fun.

The other is a little more gameplay-focused, but ties into some of the world building, too. It’s Level Designer Miles Tost talking about how the more you use a weapon, the more your cybernetic body will get used to it, and the animations will change slightly to match that to be smoother and more precise. It’s a small detail, but one that shows how much thought is being put into all the nooks and crannies of the game’s world.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release April 16th, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out both videos below.
