New Wii redesign not coming to US

Posted By | On 18th, Aug. 2011

The new Wii redesign, which Nintendo announced yesterday, will not be released in the US, a Nintendo rep has told  Kotaku. He says Nintendo “does not currently have any plans” to release the new “Family Edition” Wii model in American territories as of yet.

The new redesign has a lot of new features that make it look sleek and sexy, and all the more streamlined- a few aesthetic and configuration changes, white colour, kept horizontally instead of vertically. The biggie, though, and probably the SKU’s biggest fault, is that it won’t be able to play Gamecube games, unlike normal Wii systems.

Nintendo of America hates America.
