Ready At Dawn’s The Order: 1886 may not have been the stunning experience we’d all hoped it would be, but by and large, it was still a solid enough title. It showed a lot of promise, its narrative and cinematic aspects were top notch, and there are many who, to this day, are still hoping for a sequel that can make good on the first game’s potential.
Recently, when Jordan Mychal Lemos – who was a writer on The Order: 1886 and is currently working on Ghost of Tsushima at Sucker Punch – implied that a sequel is in development, the first game’s fanbase grew wild with excitement. However, Lemos has since then taken to Twitter to douse water on those flames, saying that he has no actual knowledge of a sequel being in development, and his comments were merely based on speculation that he’d read about the same a year ago, which he misremembered as being an announcement. So there you go- as things stand right now, it doesn’t look like there’s going to be a sequel to The Order: 1886.
Lemos’ current project, Ghost of Tsushima, meanwhile, is in proper development, and though it currently doesn’t have a concrete release date, rumours suggest the game will be out in the first half of 2020.
Before this gets any more out of hand, I know nothing about a sequel. These are the types of articles I read last year and I remembered reading 11 months later as there was one coming. Sorry to disappoint. pic.twitter.com/tVPKGzavOJ
