The sci-fi shooter promises a AAA experience at its heart

Earlier in the year, Disintegration was announced. The game will come from Take-Two’s Private Division label and V1 Interactive. Founded by one of the co-creators of the Halo franchise, the game was described as a sci-fi based shooter. Today we got some new details on the game, but only enough to wet your appetite.

In the latest issue of EDGE magazine (Issue 336), the developer broke down a few things about the game. They’re still keeping it behind closed doors for now, but did say the game was smaller in scope than traditional AAA games, but that it kept those types of high production values. They compared it to Ninja Theory’s Hellblade, a game sometimes described as ‘AAA indie’ due to its high production values at the time (this was before the company was acquired by Microsoft).

They also revealed that the game would have both a single player campaign that would be roughly 12 hours in length, as well as a “no progression” based multiplayer. While it’s not entirely clear what that means, it sounds like it won’t be a loot based shooter or one that has a high focus on levels.

Disintegration will release sometime next year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The gameplay reveal is slated to happen the 19th of this month as part of Gamescom Opening Night Live.
