Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most highly anticipated upcoming titles (and has been for a while now), so doubtless, the game is bound to do well financially when it launches next year in April. CD Projekt RED are already confident enough in the IP that they’re looking to transition into becoming a dual-property studio, focusing equally on Cyberpunk and The Witcher. In fact, it seems the game’s already selling well, as far as pre-order numbers are concerned.
In their recent quarterly financial meeting (you can watch an official video summary of it below), CD Projekt RED confirmed that they were “very happy” with the games pre-order numbers so far, which are exceeding The Witcher 3’s figures. That said, they’re unwilling to disclose any numbers just yet, since they expect most of the pre-orders to come in the final days leading up to the game’s launch, especially after reviews have come out, just as it happened with The Witcher 3 as well. CDPR also expects the game to sell “phenomenally”, owing to the quality of the title, which they seem to be very confident in.
Cyberpunk 2077 is due out on April 16, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. A gameplay stream for it will be aired today, while the title will also be at TGS 2019.
