People are expecting a great deal out of Cyberpunk 2077, which isn’t surprising, considering the fact that it’s being developed by the studio that made The Witcher 3. As such, above all else, the thing we’re looking forward to in the upcoming RPG is that it allows us to immerse ourselves in a world that is full of engaging characters and stories, whether that’s true its main narrative or its side quests.

According to CDPR, that’s exactly what the game is going to deliver. Speaking with GamesIndsutryCyberpunk 2077’s concept art coordinator Marthe Jonkers said that narrative is what CDPR prioritizes in a game above all else, and that the upcoming title is going to focus on that as well, delivering a world that players will want to explore to be able to see and be part of new captivating stories.

“Some players will probably maybe want to focus on the action, but at CD Projekt RED we are really about storytelling,” Jonkers said. “That’s the thing we do. We like to tell stories, we like to tell very deep narrative experiences. And we often make open worlds, it’s just what we love to do, so we try to push that in this game.

“If you’re going to explore Night City, we’ll make sure that it’s full of stories for you to explore.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is out on April 16, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. Recently, the developers spoke about their post-launch plans for the game, and how they intend on following a model similar to what we saw with The Witcher 3. That model, incidentally, will also include a post-launch multiplayer mode, which you can read more about through here.
