Final Fantasy 7 Remake is so far looking like it’ll strike the perfect balance between paying homage to the game it is based on, and modernizing it for the current gaming landscape. Its combat in particular looks quite interesting, with Square Enix claiming that players will be able to choose how they want to play, whether that’s with its regular combat mechanics, or something that resembles the original game’s command-based combat more closely.

If, however, you want to stick with the former, there’s still multiple ways to go about it. You can be more tactical about it and take your time with the choices you make, or you can opt for something faster, more immediate, and more action-oriented. Taking to Twitter, Square Enix recently spoke about this in particular. Players will be able to map various combat actions to the L1 button, and by setting up and making use of these shortcuts, you will be able to have faster-paced and uninterrupted combat. Take a look below.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is out for the PS4 on March 3, 2020.
