THQ Nordic

In a quick amount of time, THQ Nordic has grown quite a lot. The company took the THQ name of old and has since brought several IP rights they’ve revived or teased reviving, such as Darksiders, TimeSplitters and Destroy All Humans! They’ve also bought several studios in that process, and it seems now they want to expand even further.

In a press release, the company announced they will be forming a new subsidiary for the Japanese market. THQ Nordic Japan will handle the distribution, public relations and marketing for THQ Nordic titles, as well as those for HandyGames, another publisher under the Nordic umbrella.

THQ Nordic has actually published several Japanese titles in Europe, and the older THQ had relationships with Japnese developers in the past, so it’s not too far out there for the company to do something like this. Considering how buy happy the company has been with IPs and companies, it probably won’t be too big of a surprise to see them purchase some Japanese developers soon.
