Alan Wake Returns To Microsoft Store For First Time Since 2017

It's not a sequel, but hey, it's something.

It’s almost hard to believe, but it’s been over a decade since the survival horror game Alan Wake came out. The game was in development for years before finally coming out as an Xbox 360 exclusive. It underperformed, unfortunately, and with the exception of a small DLC that only hinted at the story’s future, we’ve not had anything official about a continuation. Well, we aren’t any closer to that- but at least the original release is back.

The original Xbox 360 release of Alan Wake was delisted from the Microsoft Store back in 2017 due to music license issues. It returned to PC in 2018, but that original Xbox 360 release never did. Now, it’s quietly been added again with no fanfare. You can see the listing through here.

There’s still interest out there for a sequel to the title from Remedy’s Sam Lake, and it seems that one of the upcoming expansions for the studio’s latest title, Control, could have some Alan Wake-related content.

We’ll just have to wait and see if the writer will ever write again.
