We’ve known about Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s demo for a while, even though Square Enix ever officially confirmed that one even exists, thanks to various leaks that spotted the demo in the PSN servers. It’s been a while since that happened, and many have been wondering when it will be made playable- well, it just happened.

Square Enix recently confirmed via the game’s official Twitter page that the demo is out on the PlayStation Store now. It’s free, of course, and allows you to play through the game’s introductory Mako reactor bombing run mission. Chances are you’ve already seen that part of the game, since it’s been playable at various events since last year’s E3, but now’s your chance to get some hands-on time with it yourself.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake – the full game – is out exclusively for the PS4 on April 10, and it’ll remain a PS4 exclusive until April 2021. A recent report indicated that the game’s file size will be in the 100 GB region.

Recently, Square Enix’s also confirmed that the game’s one month-delay has not affected the development and release schedule of the remake’s second part- read more on that through here.
