Tell Me Why Aims To Have Shorter Gaps Between Episode Releases

Dontnod knows big gaps between releases have been an issue in the past.

Dontnod Entertainment have made quite the name for themselves with their narrative-driven experiences that follow young people struggling through unusual circumstances. Unfortunately, like a lot of episodic releases, there have been issues with getting things out in a timely fashion. Their last title, Life is Strange 2, was great, but had massive gaps between episodes. The developer is hoping to not repeat that with their next episodic release, Tell Me Why.

Tell Me Why will be on the shorter side, with 3 episodes instead of 5, and Game Director Florent Guillaume recently did a Q&A on the official website with details about the game. When it came to gaps between releases, he said they’d heard the complaints about that and will aim to release Tell Me Why‘s episodes in a speedier fashion.

“We could hear how important it is for fans to be able to enjoy our games without having to wait for long periods of time in between each episode or chapter,” he said. “Having shorter waits and predictable release dates brings more challenges for us in terms of production, but we hope these changes will be great improvements to the overall player experience.”

Of course, as we’ve seen a lot so far this year, delays happen to even the best of titles. Hopefully though, Dontnod can keep Tell Me Why on a good release schedule when it launches later this year for Xbox One and PC.
