Like many companies in the wake of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, CD Projekt RED has switched to having its employees work remotely from home on Cyberpunk 2077. The developer provided an update on Twitter, noting that “We have been adapting to the situation and gradually rolling out preventative measures across our entire organization. We’ve also been upgrading equipment & infrastructure and working towards enabling our employees to work remotely, from the safety of their homes.”

Development has switched to “full remote work” for as long as necessary, which should provide “every team member the highest level of personal health safety.” It also noted that despite the process being new for everyone involved, “We are rising to the challenge and showing no signs of stopping in our effort to bring you some kick-ass role-playing action this September.”

Cyberpunk 2077 was originally slated to release in April before facing a delay to September 17th. CD Projekt RED would later reveal that some crunch was required in order to fully polish the game before launch. Since then, it’s been confirmed that the FPS/RPG will be one of the first titles to make use of the new Smart Delivery system in Xbox Series X. This essentially provides Xbox One owners with a free version of the game for the next-gen console.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia.
