The World of Cyberpunk 2077 should hold us over until September, hopefully.

Thanks ti multiple tabletop RPG renditions that it draws inspiration from, Cyberpunk 2077 is almost guaranteed to have deep and engaging lore and oodles of backstory for players to dive into (it also helps that CD Projekt RED are usually excellent at developing that side of their stories very well, too). If you’re curious to learn more about the game’s world, Night City, the characters inhabiting it, and much else that will be the foundation for the narrative that will be told in the game, there’s some exciting news.

Though the game itself is still quite a few months away from launch, The World of Cyberpunk 2077 – a companion lore book published by Dark Horse that will, as its name suggest, deliver “an extensive examination of the rich lore of a dystopian epic” – will be releasing on June 17. Expect “an intricate fusion of art and lore” across nearly two hundred pages that “examine cybernetics, weapons, characters, and more.” The book will be priced at $39.99, and should nicely hold us all over until the game releases a few months later.

Cyberpunk 2077 itself is out on September 17 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, and CD Projekt RED have stated that in spite of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the game is scheduled to launch on time, with the studio having completely switched to full remote work. The game was recently sent to age rating agencies for certification.
