The Exotic vendor has an excellent weapon and some iffy gear.

Destiny 2 Xur

It’s a strange week to visit Xur in Destiny 2 and pick up some new Exotics. While the weekend for Trials of Osiris comes to a close, you might be interested in picking up the Exotic primary being sold. As for the Exotic gear, well, opinions might be mixed on how good they are.

Look for Xur on Io in Giant’s Scar. He’s carrying Orpheus Rig (Hunter boots), Stronghold (Titan gloves) and Contraverse Hold (Warlock gloves), each for 23 Legendary Shards. Orpheus Rig is useful for gaining Super energy for enemies caught in Shadowshot’s Deadfall anchors. Unfortunately, it’s been nerfed to only return a maximum of 50 percent Super energy. Contraverse Hold was also nerfed to make Handheld Supernova less ideal.

At least Stronghold is still decent but that’s for those who choose to run with swords (which isn’t ideal given all the stomp mechanics from larger foes). As for the Exotic weapon, it’s Hard Light, an auto rifle that recently benefited from buffs to the archetype and which has no damage drop-off. It’s pretty darn good in Trials of Osiris and Crucible – pick it up for 29 Legendary Shards.
