The universally acclaimed RPG Disco Elysium, which launched on PC last year and won a number of awards across the board for its excellent writing and art style, among other things, is coming to the Switch. Developers ZA/UM confirmed the same while speaking on BBC 5live’s ‘Game On’ podcast.
Disco Elysium art director Aleksander Rostov confirmed that he is currently working on the design documentation for the UI and input systems of the game’s Switch version. “This interview is, at this very moment, interrupting me from writing up design documentation for the user interface and input systems for the Switch port,” he said.
Meanwhile, the game’s narrative lead Helen Hindpere confirmed that the Switch port actually isn’t too far away. “It’s going to happen soon,” she said.
Disco Elysium launched as a PC exclusive last year, but PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game had already been confirmed for a 2020 release. A Switch release had been asked about often, but hadn’t been confirmed until just now. An exact release date hasn’t yet been provided for either console, so stay tuned for those details as and when they arrive.
