Clearly, TeamKill Media’s upcoming horror first person shooter Quantum Error is a game that plans on utilizing the PS5’s hardware to enhance its own experience- but it won’t just be doing that to deliver better visuals. Sony recent unveiled the PS5’s new controller, DualSense, which will feature adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, and TeamKill Media plan on making use of these features for Quantum Error as well.
Speaking to GamingBolt in a recent interview, TeamKill’s Dakoda Jones and Micah Jones spoke highly of the DualSense, calling it “super exciting”, before adding, “The new triggers and haptic feedback will allow for some amazing ways for games to express certain moments in gameplay way better than before.”
When asked, they told GamingBolt that they plan on incorporating those features in Quantum Error as well. “We are definitely planning to take advantage of the new features, specifically the haptic feedback and triggers,” they said. “Being able to put resistance on the triggers will be a really cool way to add tension and immersion to the experience. For example, we may use it in a puzzle where the feedback fights against you attempting to pry something open to escape an area.”
In the same interview, TeamKill Media also spoke to us about how long Quantum Error will be, while also telling us that its gameplay structure will be “very similar” to the likes of DOOM 3 and Dead Space. Read more about both stories through the links.
Quantum Error is in development for PS4 and PS5, but doesn’t currently have a release date set in stone. The developers recently also told us that they are open to considering an Xbox Series X release for the game down the road.
