Yesterday, Ubisoft finally unveiled the long-leaked Assassin’s Creed ValhallaAnd though they have not yet announced its release date, it was reported a while ago that it was planned for release before the end of the fiscal year, by March 31 of next year.

Over on Twitter, journalist Jason Schreier says that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion will both actually be launching before the end of 2020 itself, in close proximity to each other this holiday season. Schreier says that unless one of the two releases gets bumped because of COVID-19, they’ll both be out this year itself.

That checks out, of course. When they delayed Watch Dogs Legion, Ubisoft said that they would be using the delay to their benefit to also put the game on the PS5 and the Xbox Series X, while a recent rumour suggested that the open world title is planned as a launch title for the two next-gen platforms.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, meanwhile, has long been rumoured to be releasing as a cross-gen game later this year as well. That said, Ubisoft did recently say that they’re open to delaying their games should the PS5 or the Xbox Series X’s releases get pushed back, so you never know.

In related news, keep an eye out for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s full world premiere trailer, which will be dropping later today at 8 AM PDT. We will, of course, be covering it here on GamingBolt, so stay tuned for that.
