Destiny 2 – “The Lie” Quest Bug Identified, Potential Fixes in Development

However, these fixes will need to be "tested and verified" before undergoing certification.

Destiny 2 Season of the Worthy_02

It hasn’t been the best week for hardcore Destiny 2 players. After attempting to complete “The Lie” quest, which required heaps of Seraph Tower completions (and a hotfix to make it more palatable), many found a certain step to be bugged. This prevented some from progressing forward and earning the Felwinter’s Lie shotgun.

Bungie acknowledged the issue and has since provided an update. The official Bungie Help Twitter stated that, “We have identified the issue affecting this quest and are working toward a resolution.” Community manager dmg04 followed up by noting that the team was “working on potential fixes.”

However, they might not arrive immediately. As he explains, “Those need to be tested and verified. After we get through those steps, we can move towards certification and release. Takes time, but we need to make sure not to introduce more bugs.” The upcoming hotfix 2.8.1.2 won’t be addressing the issue, unfortunately, so align expectations accordingly.

The future of Destiny is a tenuous subject right now. Bungie revealed plans to change Eververse and the Bright Dust economy while introducing transmogrification to decent praise. However, it then confirmed recently that along with Legendary weapons, armor would also be “sunset” aka have a shelf-life from the time of launch. Time will tell how these changes are received especially with Season 12 and the Fall expansion on the horizon so stay tuned for more details.
