Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is out next week, fulfilling the years-long wishes of fans. While the base game is already looking incredible thanks to its revamped graphics, there’s also the “Future Connected” epilogue. Taking place one year after and focusing on Melia, it’s touted to offer something new for veteran players.

Fortunately it seems there will be quite a lot of new content to sink one’s teeth into. In the recent Weekly Famitsu, director Tetsuya Takahashi revealed that Future Connected’s story will take 10 to 12 hours to complete. If you factor in all the side content, that’s about 20 hours of playtime overall.

Why not make it DLC? Interestingly enough, this was to prevent the development of new games from being impacted. Takahashi confirmed that there is a section of the First Production staff working on a new title – the question now is whether we’ll see an announcement soon. Regardless, he also revealed that the music for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition wasn’t completely re-recorded with an orchestra but it has been rearranged and the overall quality improved.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is out on May 29th for Nintendo Switch.
