Sony have yet to reveal much about the PS5, and one of the things that people have been curious to learn more about is what the console will look like. When Microsoft made waves in December when they revealed the unusual look for the Xbox Series X, people began wondering if Sony would be headed in a similar direction as well.

However, according to a recent report by Russian site Gamemag – who allegedly got their information from an American developer working on a PS5 game – the PS5’s design is much more traditional. In their report, they state that Sony’s next-gen console is not going to mimic the Xbox Series X’s monolithic tower structure, and will instead be a much more traditional looking box with rounded edges- though it will be larger than the PS4 Pro. Twice as thick, to be precise.

The report also mentions that there is one very unusual detail about the console that Sony have not yet revealed. The reason insiders have not disclosed the detail to the media is allegedly because tracking the leak will then become easy for Sony. On top of that, there is another important feature in the PS5 that Sony have not yet disclosed. As per the report, though apparently they did briefly touch on it earlier, no one picked up on it.

It’s always best to take leaks of an unconfirmed nature with a grain of salt, and that’s what you should do with this one as well. With Sony gearing up to begin their PS5 reveals and marketing in earnest, it shouldn’t be long before we see the console for ourselves anyway.

A games showcase for the PS5 has been scheduled for June 4, which will be about an hour long. According to Sony, it’s going to be as exciting as an E3 reveal event.
