Troy - A Total War Saga

The Total War franchise has been one of the golden standards of the strategy genre for many years. It’s taken us to many different landscapes, both historical and fantastical, with the most recent being the Three Kingdoms era of China. Now, the next game will take us to a sort of in-between with A Total War Saga: Troy, where we will be taken to a battle that may or may not have existed- and today we get our first look at the gameplay.

The gameplay reveal trailer is below. It’s a showcase between the forces of Achilles and Hector, two of the leading figures in the Trojan War. We see a returning feature from Three Kingdoms with hero duels, as well as some new things, such as units being able to switch between offensive and defensive modes and terrain types like mud and tall grass. Check it out.

A Total War Saga: Troy launches on August 13th on PC. The game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for its first week, and if you’re quick enough, you will even be able to snag the game free on the store for 24 hours after its launch. You can read about that through here.
