While it’s a bummer that Cyberpunk 2077 got pushed back once again to November of this year, in the end, it’s still one of the most anticipated and ambitious projects coming. CD Projekt RED recently showed some new footage to whet appetites, and the game is promising huge amounts of freedom from how you tackle missions to the options of how to customize your character. But what kind of limits are there? Well, it seems not a whole lot.

While speaking with PC Games N, Level Designer Max Pears confirmed that much like the Grand Theft Auto series, if you really want to go on a grand rampage through through Cyberpunk 2077‘s open world, the game won’t stop you. He said that some of the testers who tried out the recent demo did just that. Pears also said, however, that most people realize there’s more options available to you and generally naturally pull back. Unfortunately, he doesn’t go into detail about what exactly that means, or what the consequences are in the game if you do chose to go that route, such as the cop systems in the GTA series.

“If you want to go out on a rampage and have no remorse, then you have got the option, and that’s fine with us,” he said. “However, once you start to play the missions and see the amount of options you have, I think that will make players stop and think a little bit before doing something reckless.”

It’ll be interesting to see what that means, and we may get a better idea as more footage is set to be released over the coming months. But hey, if you want to go all Grand Theft Auto, seems there’s nothing stopping you. Cyberpunk 2077 releases on November 19th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with a Stadia version set to come at a later date.
