For years now, Fallout has been one of the biggest and most popular game franchises around. Going from an isometric RPG of the first two titles to transitioning into a full open world under new ownership of Bestheda, it’s a series that has been beloved by fans and financially success during its ups and down. Now, it seems it will jump to a new medium.
As announced via the official Twitter, a television adaptation of the popular video game series will be coming. It seems Amazon and Kilter Films, the studio behind HBO’s Westwold that just concluded its third season earlier this year, will be adapting it. No other information exists at this time, and at this time most film and television production has been halted due to COVID-19 concerns, so no time frame is provided for when to expect this.
There’s been no official news on the future of the franchise, with the latest entry in it, Fallout 76, being an ongoing multiplayer title. The series is mostly known for its tongue in cheek humor, but does have occasional dark shades at unexpected times. It’ll be interesting to see what a TV show looks like.
