The first part of the Summer Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now live. This free update allows players to equip a wet suit and either go swimming or diving in the ocean. In the process, they can catch sea life and donate them to Blathers’ museum.

The update also brings some new visiting characters and new items which can be acquired with Nook Miles. You can also pick up new seasonal items in the Nook Shopping catalog (though these are available for a limited time). In terms of overall content, players will need to get out there and discover everything that’s been added. By then, the next part of the Summer Update should be available.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is currently available for the Nintendo Switch. It’s estimated to have crossed 10 million in worldwide digital sales while also apparently selling over five million physical units in Japan alone. In short, its popularity won’t be slowing down any time soon. Stay tuned for more details on future updates in the coming days.
