It looks like the coming few weeks are going to keep the recent momentum of new reveals and announcements going. Microsoft have announced their big first party Xbox Series X showcase for later in the month, and it seems not long after that, Sony, too, will have some big things to show for the upcoming PS5.
Taking recently to Twitter, Eurogamer’s Tom Phillips posted a brief update about the aforementioned Xbox Series X showcase. While doing so, he linked back to a recent tweet of his mentioning an unannounced State of Play broadcast scheduled for August, and reminded everyone that that’s still on the docket. In a follow up tweet, when asked about what sort of announcements we can expect to see in the broadcast, he mentioned that Sony still has new first and third party gams in development that they’ve yet to reveal- which is something PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan has suggested as well.
That Sony has a State of Play presentation planned for next month is something that has been reported on for some weeks now.
What games Sony could announce at this State of Play is anyone’s best guess. There have been strong rumours in recent week that Sony and Konami are working together on a PS5-exclusive Silent Hill reboot, and if that is indeed real, August would be a great time to announce it.
Either way, we’ll keep you updated, so stay tuned.
Looking forward to Xbox! And a reminder PlayStation plans to fire back in a State of Play soon after… https://t.co/sG5p60JPWo

Sony has 1st and 3rd party stuff still to announce. Feels like it has quite smartly held some stuff back.
