Microsoft started this generation with their PC support in the worst shape of its life. Their major releases were skipping PC altogether, their PC-specific franchises had long since tapered off, and efforts such as the dreaded Windows Store were complete and utter fiascos, to put it mildly. In recent years, however, they’ve truly turned things around – or are beginning to, at any rate.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently took to Twitter to talk about the same, acknowledging the many issues that Microsoft have had with the PC gaming space, while adding that they are now fully committed to ensuring that their support for PC doesn’t drop off anytime soon. He also thanked the PC community for their support, adding that engagement through Game Pass and Steam has been very pleasing.

Game Pass coming to PC has been a huge deal, while Microsoft have also started bringing games to Steam. Major games like Sea of Thieves, Halo, and Grounded are flying high via both those platforms, while it seems developing games catered for PC as a platform has also become a renewed focus with the likes of Gears Tactics, Microsoft Flight Simulatorand the upcoming Age of Empires 4.

They took a while to get to this point, but things are going well for Microsoft on the PC front. Let’s hope it continues to get better.
