NISA may be localizing The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4 for the West but developer Nihon Falcom has a brand new game tomorrow in Japan for PS4. The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki is meant as a new beginning of sorts for the series and features three playable protagonists. However, in the latest issue of Famitsu (translation via Gematsu), Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo offered new details on the next game in the series.

Along with new places and characters (which will be mentioned in Hajimari no Kiseki), there will be a new main cast. “Important” characters from previous games will make appearances though. Kondo also assures fans that this isn’t Hajimari no Kiseki 2, which will conclude within its own game.

Action Time Battles will make their last appearance in Hajimari no Kiseki with the next game’s combat having more action elements and being more real-time. Kondo says that this is a “type of battle never before seen” and it should be interesting to see how it plays. In the meantime, Western players can look forward to the release of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4 on October 27th for PS4 and next year for PC and Switch.
