Ray-tracing may or may not be a thing in the dystopic future of Watch Dogs: Legion. But in the present day, Nvidia’s RTX technology helps the open world title pop with more natural global illumination and ray-traced reflections. Check it out below.

Overall, it’s pretty impressive in nuanced and subtle ways. At around the 19 second mark, the neon lights and shadows intermingle naturally with the glassy statues. Of course, ray-traced reflections in puddles can also be spotted and it’s amazing just how much more immediate all of the environmental details become.

Watch Dogs: Legion will be releasing on October 29th for Xbox One, PS4, Google Stadia and PC with Xbox Series X and PS5 versions to follow afterwards. Along with supporting 4K resolution and Smart Delivery on Xbox Series X, it will also have ray-tracing on the console. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay especially with the game confirmed for next week’s Ubisoft Forward.
