Much has been made about how big Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is. A report circulated before launch about how there were more than 100 levels to complete. While your time with the game may vary, especially when it comes to collecting all of the gems and boxes, and unlocking all of the skins, just how many levels are in the game?
Well, there’s good news – there are indeed over 100 levels in the game. However, they’re divided up in some interesting ways. There’s the main story with Crash and Coco that has 38 levels along with five separate levels that are just boss battles. Just be warned that it spoils the final boss battle of the game (along with everything else)
If you’re keen on tougher challenges, there are the N. Verted versions of the main story levels and they’re different enough to warrant distinction. For even tougher challenges, you can run through and collect all of the Flashback Tapes for a total of 21 Flashback levels. Finally, there are about 10 “alternate timeline” levels where players control Doctor Neo Cortex, Dingodile or Tawna. These are alternate versions of certain main story missions but have their own devious traps, enemy placements and challenges.
Completing the story only requires one to run through the main story missions with Crash and Coco but there’s plenty to reason to keep playing.
