After over a decade of requests and demands, Beyond Good and Evil 2 was finally announced at E3 2017, but as it turned out, things didn’t really change much for the game, at least as far as those waiting for it are concerned. There’s been little to no actual updates on it since its announcement, and the wait for it is just as unbearable and never-ending as it was before it was officially unveiled.
Its development, however, seems to be going well. Speaking in a recent earnings call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that following the departure of Beyond Good and Evil creator and director of the sequel, Michel Ancel, from the games industry, development on the game is still progressing well. Guillemot also brought up the potential of the Beyond Good and Evil universe (which is something he has spoke of in the past as well), citing its recently announced Netflix movie.
“The game is progressing well,” he said. “The world is really fantastic. As you could see, Netflix also decided to take that universe and create a movie with it. So there’s a lot of progress in that team and the game is coming along very well.”
Beyond Good and Evil 2 is in development for platforms that haven’t been announced, and will (probably) release at a date that hasn’t been announced either. Stay tuned for more updates.
