EA Play for Xbox Game Pass PC Pushed Back to 2021

More updates will be shared early next year.

EA Play

Xbox Game Pass presents probably one of the best value propositions in gaming, and the recent addition of the entire EA Play catalog at no additional charge to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers has made it even more irresistible. EA Play was, of course, supposed to be added to Game Pass on both Xbox and on PC in Holiday 2020, but the latter has been pushed back.

Microsoft recently published an update on Xbox Wire in which they confirmed that EA Play will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on PC a little later than planned- some time in 2021, with no specific launch date or window mentioned. The reasoning for why this delay has occurred is sort of vague, but Microsoft does promise that more details on when to expect the service’s addition to Game Pass on PC will be shared in early 2021 (so hopefully in a few weeks’ time).

“We established this partnership with Electronic Arts because they are as passionate as we are about helping people and communities discover great games, and we knew we could provide a great experience for members by working together,” Microsoft wrote. “In order to deliver on that, we need more time to provide the Xbox Game Pass experience.

“We’ll have more to share early next year; as always, we appreciate your support as we work to deliver this experience for our Xbox Game Pass members. Stay tuned for more information.”

EA Play is available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Microsoft recently stated that they could add more external subscription services to Game Pass in the future, similar to EA Play and their recent partnership with Disney +. Read more on that through here.
