Hazelight’s Next Game “Will be Even Better Than It Takes Two” – Josef Fares

Hazelight boss Josef Fares is confident his studio will continue to deliver increasingly better games.

It Takes Two

Hazelight Studios is pretty much the only developer in the industry right now that’s delivering games focused exclusively on co-op, and their variety in gameplay, focus on storytelling, and general quality has helped them justify that choice on multiple occasions. With both A Way Out and It Takes TwoHazelight boss and the games’ director Josef Fares made bold promises, and it’s fair to say that both games lived up to high expectations. In typical fashion, Fares is now saying that his studio’s third game is going to be even bettter.

Speaking with Push Square, Fares remarked that he wasn’t surprised at the strong critical reception for It Takes Two, owing to how confident he was in the quality of the game made by himself and his team, before going on to add that it’s because of that confidence that he’s sure Hazelight’s next game is going to be even better.

“If you ask me about our next game, I can tell you now, it will be even better than It Takes Two,” he said. “It’s gonna be so crazy. That’s how sure I am, like the concept, what’s gonna happen, and people will be blown away.”

Again, Fares does often make grand proclamations about his games, but again, he generally turns out to be on the money with those remarks. Considering how good It Takes Two is, it’s not going to be easy for Hazelight’s next game to exceed it, but with the studio’s track record, we wouldn’t put it past them to accomplish that.

It Takes Two is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
