With E3 2021 taking place in June, the next big sequel in the Battlefield franchise is due for a reveal. While DICE has confirmed that it will unveil the game soon, the official Battlefield Twitter has offered some clues as to when said reveal will take place. It recently tweeted, “Words that rhyme with Soon: June. Boom.”

As ridiculous as it may sound, the presence of “Soon” and “June” can’t mean anything else. The next Battlefield has already been hyped as having the biggest development team in the series history while offering “game-changing” destruction and “massive battles, packed with more players and mayhem than ever before.” Perhaps a teaser trailer could drop soon, hyping up the main reveal in June when EA Play presumably takes place.

Screenshots from the apparent reveal trailer have already leaked online, with an island map and some skyscrapers seen along what an apparent storm brewing. Though DICE hasn’t outright confirmed the setting, these images seem to showcase the near future. Battlefield 6 (or whatever it ends up being called) is slated to release this Holiday season for “next-gen consoles”, meaning Xbox Series X/S and PS5, and PC. Whether it arrives on previous-gen platforms is yet to be confirmed.
