Bots in multiplayer matches are nothing new with some upcoming titles like Halo Infinite implementing them for training purposes. The latest title to hop on this trend is Battlefield 2042 which introduces AI Soldiers. In an official post, EA has discussed the different modes that players can interact with them.
In Conquest and Breakthrough matches, AI Soldiers are using for “server-filling capabilities” thus ensuring that matches remain full “no matter your location.” This seems to be the default setting with no choice to opt out. One can also play co-op with friends or go it alone against AI Soldiers to hone their skills for multiplayer. The latter two options appear to serve as some kind of substitute for co-op and the campaign.
Of course, those aren’t the only modes that can be expected. There’s also Hazard Zone, which will receive more details later, and DICE LA’s unannounced mode which is a “love letter” to series fans. Rumored to be the return of classic maps, weapons and more, the latter will see its debut at EA Play live on July 22nd. Battlefield 2042 is out on October 22nd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC.
