Sony hasn’t managed and pushed Dreams nearly as well as it should have, but regardless, Media Molecule has been updating its excellent game-slash-creation suite on a pretty regular basis. Recently, the game received probably its biggest update since launch.
Earlier this year we got the announcement of Ancient Dangers: A Bat’s Tale, a new campaign developed by Media Molecule that is going to come to Dreams soon. That campaign is out now, offering a two-player co-op dungeon crawling experience (also playable solo).
In addition to that, Dreams has also overhauled DreamShaping, which is the name of its creation suite. DreamShaping 2.0 boasts a new UI and several templates that will “help make getting started making games in Dreams quicker, easier and more fun than ever before.” Rather than having to begin the development of your creations from scratch, you’ll now be able to build them on templates offered within the game for various categories, including 2D platformers, side-scrolling shoot ’em ups, mini golf, a dedicated template for the aforementioned Ancient Dangers: A Bat’s Tale, and many more. You can also expect new help messages and how-to tutorials.
Media Molecule and Sony have also shared new screenshots from Ancient Dangers: A Bat’s Tale and DreamShaping 2.0, as well as a trailer for the former. Check it all out below.
