DICE recently released its third major update for Battlefield 2042, introducing Weekly Missions (which start in the following week), UI improvements and much more. However, despite so many fixes, many players have been unable to play the game following the update. Upon trying to load into a server, the message “Unable to Load Persistence Data” is displayed before returning to the main menu.
DICE is aware of players facing this issue and noted on Twitter that it was a connection issue on its side. It’s currently working on the same so the only real solution is try and load into the server again. This isn’t the firs time the “Unable to Load Persistence Data” error has come up – it was spotted leading up to the game’s worldwide release.
Battlefield 2042 is currently available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. It’s had a significantly poor reception since launch with tens of thousands of negative user reviews on Steam while its Metacritic score is the lowest in the series till date.
