Battlefield 2042 Has Over 26,000 Negative User Reviews (and Counting) on Steam

Following its launch out of early access, user reviews for Battlefield 2042 began flooding in on Steam. DICE’s first person shooter had already proven controversial with its changes, including the removal of classes and introduction of Specialists. However, the actual game has accrued 35,780 users since release with a mere 26 percent being positive.

To put that into perspective, about 26,477 reviews are negative, thus leading to an overall rating of “Mostly Negative”. It’s already one of the lowest rated games on Steam this year based on user reviews. The critical reception has been better (check out our official review here) but there’s no denying that fans have major issues with the release.

Battlefield 2042 is currently available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Regardless of its launch reception, DICE has committed to releasing updates to improve the overall performance, weapon balance and much more. There’s also Season 1 which is slated to begin in early 2022. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
